Cold winter temperatures often create smooth and sparkling ice on our pond, ideal for skating. Bring your skates with you or grab a pair (to rent) from the Stowe Mountain Resort for the day. Even when snowy we will keep the pond clear as long as it’s frozen and the ice is safe. Children must be accompanied by adults at all times – skate at your own risk.
Our property offers both steep and gradual slopes for sledding excitement. We have sleds available or bring your own!
The same trail network used for cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter doubles as beautiful hiking trails in the summer. Let us pack you a delicious Vermont-themed snack for your hike and wander up to Peak-A-View for a swing on the bench while watching the sunset. Or, follow our trails to the nearby Stowe Land Trust’s Wiessner Woods to explore their trails and majestic hardwood forests.
Our pond is good for skating in the winter, but even better for fishing in the spring and summer with brook trout a plenty! Fishing equipment is available on request or if you prefer, use your own.
One of Stowe’s premiere summer sports, mountain biking is both fun and great exercise. Our front desk staff can arrange for a bike rental at one of our local shops and you can either explore our trails or one any of Stowe’s top-rated trail networks.
