A Romantic Tented Wedding in Stowe

We first met Alex and Dave at Edson Hill in late 2019 during their search for Vermont wedding venues. By spring of 2020, we were in the midst of planning their wedding during lockdown, and their original date of October 3, 2020, still felt far enough away that surely things would return to normal by fall.

Then came their engagement shoot at Edson Hill on June 20, when Vermont was especially lush and green, full of blooms, and every bit worthy of its “Green Mountain State” nickname. After a long conversation, we collaboratively decided postponing their celebration was the best decision. Rather than moving to October 2021, the couple chose June 19, 2021 — exactly one year from the date of their visit — for their tented wedding in Stowe.

After postponing and lots of planning, the Dartmouth duo’s long-awaited Stowe wedding weekend finally came to life. The bride and groom arrived in Stowe on the Wednesday before their wedding and enjoyed a romantic dinner together in the Dining Room at Edson Hill. The festivities continued Thursday evening with a family welcome party in town before the wedding weekend officially began.

Wedding Weekend at Edson Hill

The morning of June 18 began with a sharp 8:00 AM tee time at Stowe Country Club for Dave and his groomsmen. After their round of golf, the group enjoyed cold buckets of beer on the Tavern patio while the rest of the wedding guests arrived on property for the rehearsal dinner. David’s father, Richard, began the memorable weekend with a warm welcome toast to celebrate the soon-to-be bride and groom.

A + D soaked up their gorgeous wedding day under an elegant tent from Vermont Tent Company, with rentals and tabletop pieces from PEAK Event Services and stunning white florals from Jasper & Prudence Floral & Events. Alex’s bridesmaids wore light blue patterned dresses, while Brunello Cucinelli dressed the groomsmen. Alex wore a simple, elegant gown from Lela Rose Ceremony Boston that paired beautifully with her Christian Louboutin heels.

The couple took every up and down in stride, so seeing their special weekend finally come together with a dream team of vendors on a beautiful June day felt especially meaningful. Their tented wedding in Stowe was a joyful celebration of patience, love, and the kind of gathering that feels right at home at Edson Hill.
