Edson Hill is set on a private 38-acre estate in Stowe, Vermont, set on a private 38-acre estate with sweeping mountain views. While we feel secluded and peaceful, we are only minutes from downtown Stowe, local shops, restaurants, and outdoor recreation; about 12 minutes from Stowe Mountain Resort, and a few minutes from Stowe’s Village. Our address is 1500 Edson Hill Road, Stowe, Vermont 05672.

Edson Hill is an easy drive from Boston, New York, and Montreal:

  • Approximately 3.5–4 hours from Boston

  • Approximately 5.5–6 hours from New York City

  • Approximately 3.5 hours from Montreal

Edson Hill is a luxury boutique inn and restaurant located on a private 38-acre estate in Stowe, Vermont, offering a range of amenities including an on-site dining room and tavern, complimentary continental breakfast, and an outdoor setting for hiking and swimming in spring-fed ponds. Do you host children or families?

While Edson Hill is not formally designated adults-only, our atmosphere, room layout, and amenities are intentionally designed for adult travelers and couples. Guests seeking a tranquil, romantic environment tend to feel most at home here.

Is Edson Hill accessible?

No. Navigation of at least one step is required to access all guest rooms and public spaces. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more details regarding our property layout.

How many guest rooms are there?

Edson Hill has 22 guest rooms, located across the Manor House and adjacent guest houses. Each room is uniquely designed, offering a more personal and intimate experience than larger resorts or chain hotels.

Do any rooms have fireplaces?

Many of our guest rooms feature wood-burning or gas fireplaces, making Edson Hill especially popular for winter stays, fall foliage season, and romantic getaways. Fireplace availability varies by room type.

Is breakfast available on property?

Yes. Breakfast is available for purchase each morning at the Manor House from 8 am – 10 am. Breakfast is available for house guests only, and is not open to the public.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

No. Breakfast is available for purchase exclusively for overnight house guests. Breakfast is not open to the public.

Is the restaurant open to the public?

Yes. The Dining Room and Tavern at Edson Hill are open to both overnight guests and the public. Led by Executive Chef Matt Hiebsch, our menus highlight Vermont farms, New England ingredients, and seasonal cuisine. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and during peak seasons. Breakfast is available to house-guests only. Reservations may be booked online via Resy.

Do you offer room service?

We do not offer traditional room service, but you may opt for some reservation enhancements like a bottle of champagne, or local microbrews, to have in your room awaiting your arrival.

What is the best time of year to stay at Edson Hill?

Edson Hill is a four-season destination:

  • Winter: skiing, snowshoeing, Nordic trails, fireplaces, cozy dining

  • Spring: quiet escapes and emerging landscapes

  • Summer: hiking, cycling, gardens, outdoor dining

  • Fall: world-famous Vermont foliage and crisp evenings

Each season offers a distinct experience, and many guests return at different times of year.

What activities are available on property?

Seasonally: Nordic skiing and snowshoeing on groomed trails, hiking, cycling, and relaxing by the pond or swimming pool.

Is there a pool on property?

Yes, we have an outdoor pool that’s available from June-August, as well as a pond.

How far is Edson Hill from the ski slopes?

Yes. Edson Hill is a short drive to Stowe Mountain Resort (Approximately 12 minutes), making it an ideal base for downhill skiing and riding while offering a quieter, more intimate place to return after a day on the mountain.

Do you offer a free airport shuttle?

No, we do not have an airport shuttle. Our Front Desk would be happy to help with recommendations for airport transfers. We recommend renting a car for the best experience exploring Stowe and the surrounding area.

Is parking available?

Complimentary on‑site parking is available for all guests.

Do you have EV (electric vehicle) chargers on property?

No, we do not have an electric vehicle charger on property. The closest charging station is location at Thompson Park, about 5 minutes from Edson HIll.

Do you offer a shuttle to the mountain?

No, we do not offer shuttle service to the mountains.

What are the check‑in and check‑out times?

Check‑in begins at 3:00 PM; check‑out is by 11:00 AM.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not permitted.

Is Wi-Fi available?

Yes. Complimentary high‑speed Wi‑Fi is available throughout the property.

Do you host weddings and private events?

Yes. Edson Hill hosts a limited number of weddings and private events each year, offering full-property buyouts for couples seeking privacy, flexibility, and a true Vermont estate setting. Can non‑guests book professional photography on property?

Professional photography is reserved for private events. Please inquire for availability.
