Lizzie + Greg | August 21, 2021 –

Lizzie & Greg had considered Stowe home for many years, so when it came time to search for wedding venues in Vermont, they fell in love with Edson Hill right in their “backyard”. On a tight time crunch while preparing for a move to New York, they quickly planned their wedding weekend in under 8 months.

Lizzie & Greg’s wedding weekend began with an intimate Rehearsal Dinner in Edson Hill’s Dining Room with 30 of their immediate family members, intricately decorated by Blomma Flicka. Dinner was followed by a welcome party that took place on the Tavern’s outdoor patio for all of their guests, set beneath the market lights and surrounding the fire pit.

L + G’s Stowe wedding day began with very warm temperatures, so it was only right that Greg and his groomsmen began the day by cannon-balling into the freshwater swimming pond. The radiant energy of the groomsmen set the stage for the entire day. One of the wedding staples included a notorious blow-up swan the groomsmen invited to their morning dip; he patiently waited in the pool during the ceremony.

Lizzie and her bridesmaids stayed cool in the bridal suite with mimosas and brunch while the Indigo Salon team worked their hair and makeup magic. The stylists finished off Lizzie’s simple, classy bridal look right on time for her to meet her bridesmaids and family for portraits taken by Joshua Kane Photography, before heading to Stowe’s village for the ceremony.

Greg & Lizzie made their love official during their ceremony at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Stowe’s upper village. After the ceremony, the couple made their way back up to Edson Hill for cocktail hour. The beautiful couple enjoyed their first dance together to Billy Joel’s You’re My Home.

The newlywed couple joined their guests for their reception dinner on the Upper Patio, which boasts picture-perfect views of the surrounding pastures, barns, ponds, and the Worcester Mountain Range in the distance. Blomma Flicka Design created a simple light pink floral aesthetic with a clean finish that accentuated the classic champagne tones of the bridal party.

The warm temperatures made for a perfect sunset as the couple and their guests danced the night away intermixed with warm speeches and sentimental smiles. Lizzie & Greg ended their bubbly wedding night by jumping in the pool fully clothed with their closest friends. It was simply the most perfect weekend for a summertime Vermont wedding.
