Nestled high on a hill overlooking 38-acres of natural breathtaking Vermont scenery; Edson Hill is conveniently located just a short drive from the village of Stowe and skiing at Stowe Mountain. Guests experience the serenity of a secluded retreat where you can feel a million miles away – along with easy access to endless local attractions.
As you veer off Stowe Mountain Road and enter the property you’re greeted by Edson Hill’s quintessential Vermont structures – the historic gray barn and the rambling red horse stables and Nordic Center. Follow the winding road as it wraps its’ way around the sparkling pond and sprawling lawns delivering you to Manor House reception. Our four guest houses sit on the hill above celebrating their own panoramic views of the untouched Worcester Range and the Green Mountains.
After checking in at the Manor House reception area, take a stroll on the picturesque grounds and take a deep breath of the fresh Vermont air. Stop at the dock and practice fly casting, try your hand at sailing our remote control boat. On the other side of the pond, stop into the stables and visit the horses. For the more ambitious, depending on the season we invite you to hike, snowshoe or ski the extensive trail system that runs through the property. The estate is ensconced in lush greenery and endless sky with striking mountain views throughout the summer months. During autumn, the dynamic hues of fall foliage frame the property in stunning brilliance. In winter, snow blankets the hills, the skiing trails beckon, and a warm fire awaits your return to the Manor.
No matter what the time of year, Edson Hill offers a classic Vermont inn experience, with activities on-site and in the surrounding Town of Stowe.
On property, guests have access to over four kilometers of groomed cross-country trails, appropriate for beginners to experienced skate skiers or classic skiers. Edson Hill’s trails are part of the Vermont Catamount Trail system, North America’s longest cross-country ski trail, which runs from Massachusetts, travels through the length of Vermont, and ends in Canada.
In warmer months, on site activities include bocce, badminton, and croquet. Our two natural ponds are available for fishing; and hiking our cross-country trails is a lovely way to spend the day as well. After dinner, relax at an outdoor fire pit for a nightcap or s’mores.
The community of Stowe, arguably the most charming village in Vermont, boasts a multitude of activities, no matter what your interests. You can enjoy dining and shopping, hiking and exploring the recreation path, fishing, biking, golf, numerous wildlife tours, and of course, absorbing the beautiful Vermont scenery.
