Fourth of July Happenings Around Stowe, Vermont

Postcard-perfect Stowe, nestled between the looming shoulders of the Green Mountains and the Worcester Range, makes a lovely place to mark Independence Day. There’ll be a hearty celebration in the village on Monday, July 4th, kicking off with the Moscow Parade in the Town of Stowe’s Moscow community from 10 to 11 AM, followed up by the main Stowe parade from noon to 1 PM.

In the evening, head over to Mayo Fields for one of the biggest (and best!) fireworks shows in the Green Mountain State, which’ll be getting going at dusk.

The preceding weekend, Stowe Mountain Resort will be observing the occasion in the form of the richly packed Spruce Peak Independence Celebration. On Friday, July 1st, the Spruce Peak Green will host the season’s inaugural Summer on the Green, including the First Friday Market featuring Vermont artists and craftspeople and their varied wares, live music, local craft brews, and the complimentary, family-friendly Movie on the Green, which in this case will be the modern classic The Mighty Ducks.

On Sunday, July 3rd, meanwhile, Spruce Peak Green will present a festive Fourth of July program of live music, kid’s shows and activities, food trucks, and more, beginning at noon. In the evening, the Jason Spooner Band performs a free concert from 8 to 10 PM, with a fireworks display halfway through at 9 PM.
