When many couples start wedding planning and deciding on potential color palettes, they focus on the classics, often leaving bright colors out of their design scheme; however, the latest wedding trends show more and more pairs are gravitating towards brighter hues for their wedding design.

With the goal of inspiring couples to think outside the box when it comes to their dĂŠcor, Kaylen Davidson – owner of Sara Judith Events â€“ teamed up with a group of talented local wedding vendors to create a colorful ceremony and reception at a charming boutique hotel in Vermont, a state that has become a highly sought-after wedding destination for couples in the New York and New Jersey areas.

“The inspiration behind the color palette was to showcase a modern, moody aesthetic,” explains Kaylen Davidson of Sara Judith Events, adding that most couples getting married in Vermont  often stay away from darker palettes and opt for more classic tones. “[We wanted to] show couples they can be moody and bright and colorful at the same time.”

“The inspiration behind the color palette was to showcase a modern, moody aesthetic.”

Not sticking to the typical wedding designs popular to the region, Kaylen and the other wedding professionals involved created a romantic ceremony using tones “that are a classic representation of love,” she describes. Modern white chairs faced a romantic, natural arbor decorated with bright pink and red florals for a bold, yet amorous look, with views of the sparkling pond and horse pasture on the property.

For the reception, the venue’s Upper Patio, which features a retractable awning and views of the Worcester Range, swimming pond, horse pastures, and historic barn, was utilized. The design team incorporated even more colors throughout the reception dĂŠcor and tablescapes – primarily adding yellow to the mix. “Jasmine from A Clover and One Bee and I wanted to play with the color wheel by pairing some jewel tones with the juxtaposition of using a yellow that provided a softness to the design,” shares Kaylen of Sara Judith Events

Long wooden tables were either left bare or covered with white linens and decorated with low centerpieces showcasing organic greenery and textural florals in pink, red, and yellow. Each guest’s place setting incorporated moody black wine glasses, plates, and flatware, colorful napkins and china, and a modern menu detailing the elevated selections.

A bold black wedding bar adorned with cascading blooms and a gorgeous three-tier wedding cake on a vibrant floral-adorned display table covered with a pink-and-white patterned linen finalized the look of the styled event highlighting a modern, moody design scheme in bright tones.
