Relax in the lap of luxury amid some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Northeast at Edson Hill, and enjoy unbeatable proximity to utterly world-class skiing this winter while you do!

Our hilltop property, which sits on nearly 40 acres of seclusion mere minutes from the charming mountain village of Stowe, Vermont, puts you within ready reach of two of New England’s top ski resorts, not to mention just about endless opportunities for cross-country adventuring.

Downhill Skiing at Stowe Mountain Resort & Smugglers’ Notch Resort

Basking in the views of the Green Mountains and the Worcester Range we serve up here at Edson Hill, you’ll find yourself just a stone’s throw from the famous downhill runs of Stowe Mountain Resort, set on the flanks of the highest and grandest peak in Vermont: 4,395-foot Mount Mansfield, rooftop of the Greens.

Actually, the resort—piled up with some 314 inches of annual snowfall and also boasting extensive snowmaking capabilities—encompasses not only Mount Mansfield but also Spruce Peak, shaking out to nearly 500 skiable acres and 2,360 feet of vertical. The 116 trails at Stowe Mountain Resort account for some 40 miles and a nice spread between Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert runs. The dozen lifts here have a capacity of 21,845 passengers per hour.

A bit farther out, but still super-convenient to Edson Hill, Smugglers’ Notch Resort—aka “Smuggs”—is another fine choice for carving up the slopes. Its 78 trails lace a trio of peaks—3,640-foot Madonna Mountain, 3,040-foot Sterling Mountain, and 2,250-foot Morse Mountain—and encompass more than 2,600 feet of vertical. Here you’ll also find the only Triple Black Diamond in the Northeast: the Black Hole.

Cross-Country Skiing on an Edson Hill Getaway

From the trail systems at Stowe Mountain Resort and Smuggs to the extensive circuits through the backcountry of Mount Mansfield State Forest, you’ll also have loads of cross-country skiing opportunities at your fingertips as a guest of ours here at Edson Hill. Those snow-banked winter woods come patterned with the trails of native Vermont critters such as red foxes, fishers, white-tailed deer, and moose—always a thrill to chance upon, and cross-country skiers have excellent odds of doing so.

Cozy Up at Edson Hill on a Skiing Getaway to the Green Mountain State
